Your adventure begins with an early morning departure from Nairobi, heading through the scenic Great Rift Valley to Lake Nakuru National Park. Famous for its picturesque alkaline lake, the park is a renowned sanctuary for both black and white rhinos and offers excellent opportunities to spot lions, leopards, buffaloes, giraffes, and a wide variety of birdlife, including the iconic flamingos when conditions are favorable.
Arrive in time for lunch at your lodge, followed by an afternoon game drive to explore the park’s diverse wildlife and stunning landscapes. As the sun sets, return to your lodge or camp for dinner and a relaxing overnight stay.
After an early breakfast, depart for the world-famous Masai Mara National Reserve, Kenya’s premier safari destination. The reserve is celebrated for its vast open savannahs, exceptional wildlife density, and remarkable predator sightings. As part of the greater Serengeti ecosystem, the Masai Mara is also home to the spectacular Great Migration, when millions of wildebeest and zebras cross the plains in search of fresh grazing (seasonal).
Arrive at your lodge in time for lunch, then head out on an afternoon game drive to begin exploring this incredible wilderness. Return to your lodge or camp in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay.
Spend two full days exploring the vast plains of the Masai Mara on exciting game drives with packed lunches. The reserve is home to the Big Five, large prides of lions, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes, and abundant plains game, offering outstanding wildlife viewing throughout the year. During the Great Migration season, you may also witness thousands of wildebeest and zebras crossing the savannah. Between wildlife sightings, enjoy the Mara’s breathtaking scenery and rich birdlife before returning to your lodge or camp each evening for dinner and an overnight stay.
On this day, you will be transferring from Masai Mara to Serengeti National Park (through Isebania border). This transfer takes almost the whole day but during a great part of the journey (in the morning in Masai Mara and in the afternoon in the Serengeti), you will be doing game drive as well. You’ll enjoy the afternoon game drive en-route to your tented camp.
Explore the world-famous Serengeti National Park, home to the Great Migration and one of Africa’s richest wildlife ecosystems. Journey through the Ngorongoro highlands into the vast “endless plains,” where millions of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles roam alongside lions, cheetahs, and hyenas. The park also supports a remarkable variety of smaller wildlife and nearly 500 bird species, making every game drive unforgettable. On the second day, enjoy full morning and afternoon game drives across the Serengeti. Optional activities include a visit to Olduvai Gorge or a breathtaking hot air balloon safari at sunrise.
Begin the day with an early morning game drive in the Serengeti, taking advantage of the cool hours when wildlife is most active and the sunrise paints the plains in golden light. Return to camp for brunch before continuing your journey toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Arrive at the crater rim, a breathtaking natural wonder formed by an ancient volcano and now home to an extraordinary concentration of wildlife, including the rare black rhino and large elephant bulls. The crater floor hosts nearly every species found in East Africa, creating one of the most unique safari experiences on the continent. Optional afternoon walking safaris can be enjoyed in the Ngorongoro Highlands for a closer connection with nature.
Descend early in the morning into the Ngorongoro Crater for a full day of game viewing in one of Africa’s most remarkable wildlife havens. The crater floor offers excellent chances to see lions, elephants, buffaloes, flamingos, and the rare black rhino in a stunning natural setting. Enjoy a picnic lunch near Hippo Lake before continuing your afternoon game drive, then ascend the crater rim and proceed to Lake Manyara or Tarangire for your overnight stay. En route, there is an optional visit to an authentic Maasai village at Oldonyo Sambu for a cultural experience.
After breakfast, drive across the scenic Great Rift Valley to Lake Manyara National Park for a full-day game drive. The park is known for its lush groundwater forest, giant fig and mahogany trees, and diverse wildlife including baboons, blue monkeys, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, and hippos gathered around the lake. It is also famous for tree-climbing lions and large flocks of flamingos along the shoreline, offering stunning photographic opportunities. Enjoy game viewing along the lakeside before transferring in the afternoon for your flight to Zanzibar around 4:00 pm. Upon arrival, begin your relaxing beach stay on the island’s beautiful coast.
Spend two relaxing days in Zanzibar, unwinding on pristine white-sand beaches bordered by the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean. This tropical paradise offers the perfect balance of rest and exploration, with optional excursions available for those wishing to discover more of the island. You may choose a full-day Stone Town experience including a guided Old Town tour, Spice Tour, and Prison Island visit, or opt for a half-day excursion focusing on selected highlights. Alternatively, explore the natural beauty of Jozani Forest, home to the rare red colobus monkeys, or simply relax and enjoy the peaceful beach atmosphere.
Enjoy a relaxed morning at your hotel, soaking in the final moments of your beach holiday. Later, you will be transferred to Zanzibar Airport in time for your international flight, marking the end of your unforgettable East African safari and beach experience.
