Your 8-Day Ultimate Uganda Wildlife and Gorilla Safari begins with an exciting journey through Uganda’s premier safari destinations, including Murchison Falls National Park, Kibale National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park, and Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Along the way, you’ll enjoy unforgettable wildlife encounters, chimpanzee tracking, thrilling game drives, and the once-in-a-lifetime experience of mountain gorilla trekking.
After breakfast, depart Kampala for a scenic 6–7-hour drive to Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s largest national park. The journey passes through charming towns, local villages, and vibrant roadside markets, offering a glimpse into everyday Ugandan life.
Arrive in the afternoon for lunch at your lodge before visiting the top of the spectacular Murchison Falls, where the Nile River forces its way through a narrow gorge and crashes into the river below. After the hike, return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
After an early breakfast, enjoy a morning game drive in Murchison Falls National Park, where you may spot lions, elephants, Rothschild’s giraffes, buffaloes, leopards, Uganda kobs, warthogs, and other wildlife in their natural habitat.
After lunch, embark on a scenic boat cruise along the Nile River to the base of the spectacular Murchison Falls. Watch for hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and a variety of birdlife before returning to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
After an early breakfast, check out and begin your journey to Kibale National Park, passing through Uganda’s scenic countryside, rolling hills, valleys, and breathtaking views of the Rwenzori Mountains and the escarpment.
This is the longest drive of the safari, with several stops along the way to stretch and refresh. Enjoy lunch en route before arriving in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay at your lodge.
After an early breakfast, transfer to Kanyanchu Visitor Centre in Kibale National Park for registration and briefing before beginning your chimpanzee trekking experience. This unforgettable activity offers a rare chance to observe chimpanzees up close in their natural rainforest habitat, along with other primates, birds, and forest wildlife.
After the trek, continue your journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park, arriving in time for lunch at your lodge. Later, enjoy an afternoon game drive where you may encounter large herds of elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, and other wildlife across the savannah plains. Return to the lodge for dinner, relaxation, and overnight stay.
After an early breakfast, enjoy a refreshing boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel in Queen Elizabeth National Park, a rich waterway linking Lakes Edward and George. The channel is home to hippos, crocodiles, and a wide variety of bird species, while elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, and bushbucks are often seen along the shoreline.
After the cruise, return to the lodge for your luggage and continue the journey through the Ishasha sector en route to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Arrive in the evening for dinner, relaxation, and an overnight stay as you prepare for your gorilla trekking experience the following day.
This is the most memorable highlight of your safari. After an early breakfast, proceed to the park headquarters in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for a briefing before beginning your mountain gorilla trekking adventure at around 8:00 am. You will hike through dense rainforest, steep slopes, and thick vegetation for 1 to 5 hours in search of a habituated gorilla family.
Once found, you will spend up to one unforgettable hour observing them at close range (7 meters), watching their behavior and interactions in their natural habitat. After the trek, return to your lodge for lunch and relaxation. In the evening, enjoy a cultural or community visit to experience the local lifestyle and traditions.
After breakfast at the lodge, begin your long but scenic drive back to Kampala, a journey of approximately 8–9 hours. En route, enjoy lunch in Mbarara Town or at Igongo Cultural Centre, and make a stop at Mpambire Drum Makers or the Uganda Equator Crossing at Kayabwe for photos and souvenirs.
Continue to Kampala, where you will be dropped off at your hotel or transferred directly to Entebbe International Airport for your departure flight. This marks the end of your unforgettable 8-Day Ultimate Uganda Wildlife and Gorilla Safari, filled with exceptional wildlife encounters and lifelong memories.
