At 06:30 Pick-up & Transfer to Marangu Gate
Your adventure begins with an early morning pick-up from your hotel in Arusha or Moshi. Enjoy a scenic drive to Marangu Gate, the main entrance to Mount Kilimanjaro National Park. Upon arrival, complete the park registration before meeting your professional mountain guide for a briefing.

Around 09:00 Begin the Hike
Start your trek through the dense rainforest, where towering trees, giant ferns, and colorful wildflowers create a magical atmosphere. Keep an eye out for black-and-white colobus monkeys, blue monkeys, and a variety of bird species that inhabit this unique ecosystem. The trail is well-maintained and offers a gradual ascent, making it suitable for hikers with a moderate level of fitness.

Around 12:30 Arrive at Mandara Hut (2,700m)
After approximately 3–4 hours of hiking, arrive at Mandara Hut, the first overnight camp for climbers on the Marangu Route. Relax and enjoy a packed picnic lunch surrounded by the peaceful rainforest. If time and weather permit, take a short 15-minute walk to Maundi Crater, where you’ll be rewarded with beautiful views over Northern Tanzania and, on clear days, into Kenya.

Around 13:30 Descend to Marangu Gate

Begin your descent along the same trail, enjoying another opportunity to admire the forest scenery and wildlife. The downhill walk takes approximately 2–3 hours. Then meet your driver at marangu gate and begin the return journey to your hotel in Moshi or Arusha.

18:00 – Arrival at Your Hotel
Arrive back at your accommodation with wonderful memories of your Mount Kilimanjaro day hike. (Arrival time may vary depending on your hotel location.)
